My friends said things like “Who would ever use Ethereum?” “NFTs are only for rich people” … and to be honest I agreed with them … although my initial reactions were filled with emotion … I agreed … How was this going to prove we are “innovating” ..

Let the copium tweets roll out along side the hopium tweets
People gonna justify this if they hit and gonna hate it if they didn’t
Lose lose either way with this sort of drop, those gas fees are unacceptable

Yuga’s apology reads as if they feel they did nothing wrong, and Ethereum is to blame for the mess tonight. Meanwhile, they:
– Had a poorly optimized contract, to the point of negligence
– Allowed 2 mints per wallet amongst 40k KYC wallets that had pre-approved $ape for mint

A ‘tone deaf’ response
We’re sorry for turning off the lights on Ethereum for a while. It seems abundantly clear that ApeCoin will need to migrate to its own chain in order to properly scale. We’d like to encourage the DAO to start thinking in this direction.
